Matthew Moo's Chicago Marathon 2025 Fundraiser

Matthew Moo

Matthew Moo

Thank you to everyone who contributed to my Chicago Marathon fundraiser last year. The marathon left me feeling so inspired and energized that I am eager to experience it again. But to reach the start line, I will need your help.

For the second year in a row, I am proud to be fundraising for Chicago Run, an organization that fosters inclusivity, mental well-being, and confidence among Chicago’s youth. Through programs like Little Strides and Running Mates, Chicago Run helps young people thrive through the power of running.

This past year has been a mix of highs and lows. I became a U.S. citizen, voted in an election for the first time, celebrated friends’ weddings, and explored new places. Toward the end of the year, a series of losses brought waves of grief and restlessness. Through the joys and the pain, I ran. Running has been my constant throughout life’s turbulences, helping me process my thoughts and emotions while giving me something to work toward, hope for, and look forward to.

I have gained so much from running, and I want to share that joy, perspective, and fire with the next generation.

Please consider contributing to this fundraiser. Your donation will guide young individuals toward a transformative and lifelong adventure and send me on an exciting journey of my own—the 2025 Chicago Marathon.

And to those reading this, I hope you will not only support this cause but also consider running the Chicago Marathon yourself. You are stronger and more capable than you realize. The Chicago Marathon is an incredible opportunity to inspire and surprise yourself. Believe me: the energy you give to the race, the city will return to you tenfold.

I could go on about how remarkable this experience is, but it is truly something you must experience for yourself. Only then might you understand why I have decided to run the Chicago Marathon again—and why 2025 won’t be my last.

All my gratitude,
Matthew
